Parking at the ARC and CRCE
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I park if I use the ARC?
Metered spaces are available in the lot just west of the ARC building (Lot E-24) as well as along Peabody Drive in front of the building. Additional metered space is available on Fourth Street and in the Art and Design and Law School lots.
Patrons with a Lot E-24 hang tag may legally park in the metered spaces.
Be Advised: the parking lot directly across the street from the ARC entrance (Lot E-38) is a housing lot. You will be ticketed or towed unless you have the appropriate hangtag.
Where can I park if I use CRCE?
There are metered spaces available along Dorner Drive (24/7) and in Lot 29, just south of the parking garage.
Be Advised: the Allen Hall parking lot is a 24-hour reserved lot; you will be ticketed unless you have the appropriate hangtag.
Are there any "free times" when I don't need to pay the meters?
- At the ARC, Lot E-24 is free of charge Monday-Friday mornings from 6:15-8:15 am and after 5 pm. Weekends are also free.
- At CRCE, the parking garage at Dorner and Gregory is free after 5 pm, Monday-Friday and all day on weekends.
What are my parking payment options?
Campus Rec DOES NOT control parking payment options.
The options currently available include:
- Coins: meters give 20 minutes per 25¢; 12 minutes per 10¢; 6 minutes per 5¢.
- CashKey: CashKeys are programmable keys that fit into the meters in lieu of carrying change. Pick up a brochure at Campus Parking. You can purchase keys programmed for university meters at the Public Safety office on Springfield and Goodwin Avenue.
- Daily Meter Use Permits: Available through Campus Parking, these hangtags are good at any University meter at a cost of $9.
- Campus Shuttle: Campus Shuttle is a free service for all Faculty/Staff presenting their i-Cards. There are currently three shuttles which provide close access to the ARC: 26 Pack, 23 Shuttle West and 23 Shuttle East.
The CashKeys and Daily Use Permits may be purchased with cash, check, MasterCard or VISA.
