Intramural Activities

Intramural Activities consist of over a 100 student officials for a variety of sports such as soccer, baseball, flag football, basketball, volleyball and etc. Locations vary from indoor to outdoor facilities. Intramural Activities offer a wide variety of structured fitness activities offering team sports and individual events. Officials in each sport go through a paid training program. Training occurs over a one week period before play begins and includes classroom and on-site training.

Student positions available include:

Intramural Officials

  • Responsibilities are to provide a positive attitude toward workers and participants, to have knowledge of rules and regulations, and to attend clinics and meetings. Must follow procedures set by Intramural Staff and officiate all intramural sport events such as basketball, football, broomball, in-line hockey, soccer, softball and volleyball to the best of your ability. Officials are required to officiate at least 3 sports during a year; specifically 1 each season.

Staff Assistant

  • Requires experience as Campus Recreation Intramural Official before applying for position.
  • Responsible for checking that all team rosters are complete and participants are properly registered. They record all game data, keep game scores and provide technical support to the IM staff.

Program Assistant

  • Requires experience as Campus Recreation Staff Assistant before applying for position.
  • The Program Assistant oversees the efficient operation of the IM office. They record and update data, disseminate information to the intramural sports participants and provide technical support to the IM staff. Program Assistants are the IM programs daily connection to the university participants.

Facility Manager

  • Requires experience as Campus Recreation Program Assistant before applying for position.
  • The Facility Manager is responsible for actively supervising the evening intramural activities, facilitate play area openings/closings, record results and troubleshoot problem areas. The Facility Manager works closely with the Intramural Graduate Assistant in coordinating and implementing the IM programs. They have the responsibility of staff supervision and customer relations in ensuring a quality program for the Division of Campus Recreation.
