Entry Level:
Learning the Techniques of Scuba Diving
Phase 1: Instructional Phase (6 sessions)
- use and function of gear and equipment
- myths and facts concerning the sport
- scuba diving areas and locations
- water entries and surface dives
- use of mask, fins and snorkel
- in-pool training with tanks
- classroom—science of scuba
Phase 2: Final Certification
To acquire your diving card an outdoor open dive and testing are required. There is an additional cost of approximately $120 for final certification. This second phase will be arranged through the instructor upon completion of the basic requirements covered in phase one.
Clinic Details
Class Session 1: The first session serves as an orientation. Bring your swimsuit and items for note taking.
Class Session 2-6: The remaining 5 sessions will consist of one hour of classroom instruction followed by one hour of in-pool instruction.
Cost: $225 Members, $250 for Non-Members
The fee includes instruction, videos, scuba tank, regulator, BC, weight belt and wetsuit and use of the pool for instruction.
What To Bring: Participants must provide their own mask, fins and snorkel along with classroom materials (books).
