What is Athletic Training at the UI Wellness Center?
The Department of Kinesiology and Community Health at the University of Illinois provides an athletic trainer at the UI Wellness Center. Short-term therapy for athletic or recreational sports injuries is provided at this walk-in clinic.
Who can receive Athletic Training services at the UI Wellness Center?
Faculty, staff and students can utilize Athletic Training services.
What services does the Athletic Trainer provide?
The following short-term services are available:
- Injury evaluation
- Acute injury care
- Taping: Clients must provide their own tape (available from Member Services)
- Minimal modality treatments
All services are provided by a licensed athletic trainer.
How much does it cost to receive Athletic Training services?
Athletic Training services are free.
Do I need an appointment to see the Athletic Trainer?
Appointments are not necessary. The Athletic Training office is a walk-in clinic – services are available on a "first come, first serve" basis.
What are the Athletic Training hours?
Athletic Training is closed for the summer.

Where is the Athletic Training office located?
The Athletic Training office in the UI Wellness Center is located on the concourse level of the ARC (Activities and Recreation Center), 201 East Peabody Drive, Champaign.
Metered parking is available on the west side of the ARC building. Parking is free after 5 pm.
