Cookbook Club

FREE

This club will review a different cookbook each month and one special recipe from it. That recipe will be posted below prior to the lunchtime gathering and prepared by our staff nutritionists to be sampled by all. The Cookbook Club will meet in the Instructional Kitchen from 12:15-1 pm on the first Tuesday of each month.

"Italian Night"

Thursday, September 17 at 7 pm

Have dinner with us! Learn how to cook tasty and healthy Italian dishes and then sit down to a "family" dinner with your co-chefs! It's pasta and much more!

"Vegetarian" Cooking Night

Wednesday, November 4 at 7 pm

Easy Vegetarian Cooking (pdf)

Learn how to cook an easy, fast, healthy, and delicious vegan meal. We'll explore a combination meal with an appetizer, main dish, salad, and dessert! Then, enjoy dinner!

Group Rentals

A healthy-cooking class is a great way to gather friends, colleagues, committee members or really any size group! You can reserve the kitchen for your event and we will do the rest. Please contact Janet Kroencke for more information.

Are you looking for new ways to build your team or celebrate with your group? Do you have a special event or meeting you want to feature something a little different and fun? Try one of our Cooking Classes! Led by our Community Culinary Nutrition Instructor, Stacey Krawczyk, MS, RD, LDN.

All of these cooking classes are hands-on for participants. The classes are 2 hours and are best for groups of 16 or less. Alternatively the classes can be shortened to 1 hour to meet your group’s needs. Everyone will taste each other's recipes during the topic "teaching time." Shorter 30 minute demonstrations are also available, but do not involve the hands-on portion.

  • Tastes of the Mediterranean: Not only has the Mediterranean eating style been linked to health, but it's a tasty and exciting way to eat! Learn how to make fast, easy Mediterranean-style recipes and boost your health at the same time!
  • Amazing 5-Ingredient Meals: Looking for fast, easy meals you can put together in a snap? Try our new 5-Ingredient Meals class and you'll come away with a range of recipes that you can make in a snap. Plus, they taste great and are healthy!
  • Desserts to Die For: Join us for this luscious class on dessert-making. We'll prepare everything from homemade frozen fruit yogurt to chocolate fondue. Come and enjoy!
  • Healthy College Cooking: Hey Students – Need healthy ideas to make quick and easy meals on a budget, in a limited kitchen and for one or two people? This make and taste class is for you! Come get great tips for the novice or "seasoned" home cook.
  • LunchAbles: Need quick and healthy ideas to pack your sack? Want to benefit your wallet as well as your waist? This is a great offering for a lunch and learn series – while you make your lunch, get lots of great tips on packing healthy lunches and snacks.
  • Superfoods: Need practical ideas to select and prepare superfoods to put some "funk" in your functional foods? Learn strategies that tempt your tastebuds and double-duty your nutrition and nutrients.
  • Feeding Healthy Families: Stuck in a rut? Come learn great recipes that are quick and healthy for the whole family.
  • Children’s Birthday Parties: Come party in the kitchen – up to 10 children (ages 6 and above) to celebrate the special day by making their own individual pizzas and decorating cupcakes (1 hour total). Must also provide one adult to assist the student instructor.
  • Becoming Vegetarian: Are you investigating vegetarian options and not sure how to balance it all? Can you find quick, healthy and tasty vegetarian options without breaking your budget? Come taste some great options whether you are a "flexitarian" or an investigating vegan.
