Parking

Main Content

Where can I park at the ARC?

Metered spaces are available in the lot just west of the ARC (Lot E24) as well as along Peabody Drive in front of the building. Additional metered space is available on Fourth Street and in the Art and Design and Law School lots.

Patrons with a Lot E-24 hang tag may legally park in the metered spaces.

Be Advised: The parking lot directly across the street from the ARC entrance (Lot E38) is a permit-only lot.
You will be ticketed or towed unless you have the appropriate hangtag.

Parking Payment Options

Campus Rec DOES NOT control parking payment options.

The options currently available include:

  • Coins: meters give 1 hour per $1; 15 minutes per 25¢; 6 minutes per 10¢; 3 minutes per 5¢.
  • Cash key: Cash keys are programmable keys that fit into the meters in lieu of carrying change. Pick up a brochure at the Parking Department located at 1110 West Springfield, Urbana (second floor Public Safety Building). Learn more »
  • Daily Meter Use Permits: Available through the Parking Department, these hangtags are good at any University of Illinois meter at a cost of $11.
  • The pay by phone system is available at most University of Illinois meters. Learn more »

Cash keys and Daily Use Permits may be purchased with cash, check, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and VISA.

Parking Department hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:30 am-5 pm. They can be reached at (217) 333-3530 or at www.parking.illinois.edu.

Other Parking Options

As a courtesy, the Parking Department has allowed ARC patrons to park in lot E24 Monday-Friday from 6:15-8:15 am without having to pay the meters. Parking is available after 5 pm in all lots and during weekends at no charge.
