American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
Registration will close on Friday May 10, 2013 at 3 pm for this class.
Dates and Times:
Monday-Friday, May 13-17, 2013 (5-9:30 pm daily)
Fee: $200 (includes all materials and certification fees)
Become lifeguard certified and recieve CPR/AED for the professional rescuer and First Aid training. You can then become a lifeguard at the Campus Recreation pools or a local swimming facility.
Prerequisites
Please check that you meet the minimum requirements.
- At least 15 years old.
- Swim 300 yards continuously.
- Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breastroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute 40 seconds.
If you are unable to complete the prerequisites, your fees will be refunded minus a $5 processing fee and a $25 testing fee.

Class 1 Dates and Times:
- Friday, January 11, 2013 (5-10 pm)
- Saturday-Sunday, January 12-13, 2013 (10 am-5 pm)
Class 2 Dates and Times:
Fee: $200 (includes all materials and certification fees)
Lifeguard Instructor Training prepares individuals to conduct American Red Cross lifeguard training, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer and First Aid Training.
Prerequisites
Please check that you meet the minimum requirements.
- 17 years of age or older.
- Hold a current Lifeguard / First Aid / CPR & AED for the Professional Rescuer certificate from the American Red Cross or an equivalent certificate from another organization.
If you are unable to complete the prerequisites, your fees will be refunded minus a $5 processing fee and a $25 testing fee.

Water Safety Instructor Training
Dates and Times:
Monday-Friday, May 20-24, 2013 (4-9:30 pm daily)
Fee: $200 (includes all materials and certification fees)
Prerequisites
Please check that you meet the minimum requirements.
- At least 16 years old.
- Swim 25 yards of each of the following strokes: frontcrawl, backcrawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke.
- Swim 15 yards using the butterfly stroke.
- Float for one (1) minute on back in deep water.
- Tread water for one (1) minute.
If you are unable to complete the prerequisites, your fees will be refunded minus a $5 processing fee and a $25 testing fee.
