Personal Trainer

Assistant Director of Fitness Programs / Personal Training Program Assistants / Other Personal Trainers 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Educate clients and enforce policies regarding the safe and proper use of equipment and facilities. 
  • Develop, document, and implement individual, partner or group workout programs that meet the goals of clients. 
  • Instruct clients on basic exercise physiology and educate them on proper lifting and exercise techniques. 

Qualifications

  • Personal Trainers at Campus Recreation consist of current UIUC students. Personal Trainers at Campus Recreations must be: 

                            Nationally certified (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, etc.) 

                                                        OR 

                            Complete the in-house Personal Training Prep Course 

  • All applicants invited to interview will be asked to complete a workout program and session demonstrations based off the case study provided to them, as well as the formal question interview. 

Minimum Work Requirements

  • Position requires flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasionally portions of academic break periods 
  • Position requires a 3 hour per week minimum and 3 client minimum at a rate of $16/hour 
  • This position is subject to a University mandated background check

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Includes office responsibilities associated with the successful operation of the personal training program. 
  • Responsible for assigning new clients to the personal trainers and assisting with educational offerings to personal training staff. 
  • Assist with client tracking, reports and other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in supervising and instructing participants in a fitness environment is required. 
  • National certification for PT is preferred. 

Minimum Work Requirements

  • Position requires flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasionally portions of academic break periods 
  • Position requires an average of 10 hours per week at a rate of $15.50/hour 
  • This position is subject to a University mandated background check  

Graduate Program Assistant

Organizational Relationships

Assistant Director of Fitness Programs / Personal Training Program Assistants / Personal Trainers 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Undergraduate Program Assistant and a team of 25+ personal trainers. 
  • Facilitate educational offerings to personal training staff. 
  • Assist with administrative responsibilities: client files, protocols for fitness assessments, payroll and other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in supervising and instructing participants in a fitness environment is required. 
  • National certification for PT is preferred. 
  • Field of study in Kinesiology, Community Health, RST, Food Science or other health-related field is preferred. 

Minimum Work Requirements

  • Position requires flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasionally portions of academic break periods 
  • Position requires an average of 15 hours per week at a rate of $24.74/hour
